Frida Kahlo: Life of an Icon (2023)

Created with powerful 360º digital projection and holographic technology by the Spanish digital arts company Layers of Reality, Frida Kahlo: The Life of an Icon was an invitation into a vivid, dreamlike world – one that took you through the canvas and into the artist’s inner life.

From the intimate perspective of her sickbed, your journey expanded into surreal and colourful landscapes, interactive environments and poetic interpretations of pivotal moments in Kahlo’s life, including the accident that informed so much of her art.

For many, it was also a memorable first encounter with a new space – the Cutaway, a unique underground cavern as big as the Sydney Opera House's Concert Hall.
